VSEZ exports rise 25 pc in H1

During the first six months current year , VSEZ units exported Rs 207.36 crores worth of goods as against Rs 165.79 crores in the first half of last fiscal.

During the last fiscal VSEZ units exported various items worth Rs 360 crores , and this year the exports are likely to touch Rs 450 crores, sources at VSEZ said.

The export figures of VSEZ units during the first six months of current fiscal are as follows: Worldwide Diamond Rs 121.19 crores, LID Jewellery India Private Limited (DPD) Rs 69.35 crores, Madras Knitwear Private Limited Rs 7.11 crores, LID Jewellery India Limited (J) Rs 6.65 crores, Bangalore Sweaters Private Limited Rs 1.95 crores, True Forge Fittings Rs 56 lakhs, Spares corporation Rs18 lakhs, Kaarunya Associates Rs 35 lakhs and Van Bueren Exports and Imports Rs 2 lakhs.

Out of the total exports from the zone, Worldwide Diamond it self contributed 58 per cent share. A notable thing is software units, which were operating from the zone, had not yet commenced the exports, even after the first half.
