The Tata-controlled Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) has approached the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), seeking a cost-based interconnect revenue-share arrangement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) for carrying international long-distance calls.
In a letter to Trai last week, VSNL also suggested a formula for paying BSNL the national component for carrying international calls.
The move to approach Trai comes despite deputy Prime Minister L K Advani stepping in to resolve VSNL
