After Gurudas Kamath’s resignation from the government for ‘personal reasons’, former law minister Veerappa Moily was the next to lash out at the Centre for buckling under pressure “from vested interests” to remove him.
Moily was shifted from the law ministry to the corporate affairs ministry, vacated by Murali Deora.
Talking to NDTV, Moily said: “Whatever sin is committed by administrative ministries... they will try to attach that to law ministry. It has nothing to do with us... we are only the face in the court. I am very proud of what I have done...it is unprecedented.”
He said his principle of reforms, for “fastest and inclusive justice” had upset some people, though he did not indicate who they were. “Reform is not pleasant for everybody.” He was also critical of the media for “sometimes being blind to the situation and reality”.
