The Calcutta Stock Exchange steadied yesterday in anticipation of peace talks with Pakistan and leading scrips including State Bank of India, Tisco, L&T, Reliance and Telco hit the circuit filter in the later hours of trading.

The CSE-40 index gained by 77.85 points to close the day 2070.04 points against its previous close of 1992.19 points. The index hit a high of 2071.65 points and dipped to a low of 2013.10 points during trading.

"Leading traded stocks moved up and got frozen on hopes of peace negotiations," said CSE dealers.
