Implementation of ongoing projects within a fixed time-frame in West Bengal was discussed at a high level-meeting convened by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today.
Budgetary allocation and financial constraints were discussed along with possible remedies, state secretariat sources said.
The departments were directed to monitor projects and commission them at the earliest. There was no official briefing on the meeting.
The sources hinted that the chief minister also assessed the performance of some ministers and that there was room for improvement.
Ministers of the departments of Forest, Sports, Irrigation and Micro and Small Scale Enterprises, Water Resources Investigation, Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing, Food Processing and Fisheries, Sundarban Affairs, Public Health Engineering and Power attended the meeting. Finance Minister Amit Mitra and Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh were also present.
