Addressing a joint press meet, State Law Minister M Vijayakumar and Ramnidhi Wasan, chief operating officer, Business Development of Chalet Hotels, said first phase of the project, to be implemented on BOT basis at an estimated cost of Rs 205 crore, would be completed by 2010.
A five star hotel with 249 hotel rooms and 25 poolside luxurious cottages are some facilities at the Centre, in which the state government would have 26 per cent share, Vijayakumar said.The project, when completed, was expected to boost the business tourism in the state.
The lease period was 90 years, Vijayakumar said. The Convention Centre would provide an integrated venue for conferencing, convention and exhibition facilities for domestic and international events equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, Wasan said.
In the second phase,apartments, villas, retail space, commercial offices were planned at an estimated cost of Rs 800 crore, Wasan said. Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan would inaugurate the project and lay the foundation stone.
