Tata Tea, a Tata group beverage company, is planning a major thrust in branded products to expand its current business, consisting mainly of tea and coffee.
Based on the recommendations of a Tata Strategic Management Group study, the company is planning to enter the processed foods market, vice-chairman R Krishna Kumar told Business Standard. "Tata Tea has expertise in the food-related business and this, we believe, will be an area of future growth for the company," he said.
