Xansa India donates boats to tsunami-hit villagers

Xansa India Limited, a software services and BPO company, has donated boats and 960 kgs of fishing nets to the tsunami-affected villagers of Karikattukuppam and Semencheri villages in Chennai.
 
Amitabh Shrivastava, director-operations, Xansa, Chennai, made the contribution at the east coast road camp, Karikattukuppam in Chennai today, according to a company release.
 
Xansa has initiated interventions in two broad areas "" restoration of boats which comprises repairing boats, replacing nets and restoration of livelihoods and supporting small entrepreneurs in order to provide an immediate source of livelihood.
 
The present donation will benefit approximately 320 families in Karikattukuppam and 150 families in Semencheri, the press release said.
