Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa today said that he would not utter a single word against the governor H R Bhardwaj. Instead, he would leave it to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to carry on the party’s campaign for recall of the governor.
“I will not utter a single word against the governor. The party has freedom to carry on what it feels right for his recall,” Yeddyurappa said.
CM and the ruling BJP had launched a campaign for the recall of Bhardwaj after he sent a report to the Centre recommending the dismissal of three-year old BJP government in the state and imposition of President rule by keeping the legislative assembly in suspended animation. The Central government on Sunday rejected Bhardwaj’s report.
Commenting on his relations with the governor, Yeddyurappa said, “As long as he is in that chair, we have to give respect and I will act accordingly.”
It is not the first time that Yeddyurappa has made such declarations. In the past too, he had said he would refrain from talking about the governor but within days, slammed him for criticising the government. The chief minister also ruled out the question of another trust vote, following the restoration of membership of 16 legislators including five independents.
