Zee ready to telecast Indo-Pak matches

In the midst of its battle with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on telecast rights, Zee Telefilms Ltd (TL) today told the Madras High Court that it was willing to telecast the upcoming Indo-Pak cricket series "without prejudice" to the contentions of the parties in the case.

ZTL would do this entirely at its risks and costs and without any equity in its favour.

This shall also be without prejudice to the respective contentions of the parties before the Madras Court, it said in a petition to the court.

The International Cricket Council chief Ehsan Mani had said that without the live telecast matches would not be allowed. "This is a worrying situation for us and we are closely monitoring it," he said from his London office.

Emphasising the importance of the telecast, he said as per ICC guidelines every host country has to make necessary arrangements with prescribed number of cameras on the field to provide live feeds to the third umpire for making crucial decisions.

"These live feeds are very crucial as, you know, now-a-days a number of decisions are referred to the third umpire," Mani said.
