Last year the results for the Exam, which was held on July 31 were declared on August 19. There are 2403 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officers as announced by the Bank for which it conducted the Examination. Eligible candidates after clearing prelims exams appeared for the Main exam. The candidates seeking to join the prestigious SBI as Probationary Officers will have to register online for the recruitment process to be undertaken by the Bank after officially declaring the results.
How to check the results once officially announced:
- Visit the official website : www.sbi.co.in/careers/ongoing-recruitment.html
- Search for ‘Recruitment of Probationary Officers in SBI: Main Exam Results’ on the page. Click on the same.
- The list of shortlisted candidates would appear or be automatically downloaded as PDF.
Group Interviews:
The candidates Shortlisted will now appear for Phase - III (Group Exercise & Interview). The combined marks of candidates clearing both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be kept in descending order in each category. The Bank with the sufficient number of candidates in each category will invite them for Group Exercise and Interview. The marks in Written Test will be converted out of 75 and the marks in Interview will be converted out of 25. Finally, after conversion of the converted marks out of 100 for every category, the merit list of the candidates eligible for the vacancies will be declared.
Role of Probationary Officer:
The recruited candidates will be called as Probationary Officers (PO) who will be working on probation of 2 years. These two years will get them through rigorous training and on-job experiences. Before the end of the stipulated period, they will be going through a screening process. Those Officers who meet the standards set aside by the Bank will be considered for placement in the next higher grade (Officer Middle Management Grade Scale-II). A question may arise: What about those who pass the screening process but fail to meet the standards? Those who clear the test but become unable to meet the standards will be confirmed as Officer Junior Management Grade Scale I. And those who fail in the screening test will be terminated.
