The State Bank of India (SBI) is inviting applications for the post of Deputy General Manager (Law). Candidates willing to take up the post can apply for the same till October 10, 2017 (Tuesday). The number of vacancy is 1 reserved for UR (1), OBC (0), SC (0) and ST (0). The qualified candidate would be offered the annual CTC as Middle Management Grade Scale II (MMGS II) 40.20 Lacs (inclusive of leased Rental at Mumbai). Selection of the suitable candidates will be based on shortlisting and personal interview. Adequate number of candidates as decided by the Bank will be shortlisted, based on their qualification, experience and overall suitability, for interview. Keep in mind that the qualifying marks in interviews will be decided by the Bank. Merit list for selection will be prepared in descending order on the basis of scores obtained in the Interview only. In case more than one candidate score the cut-off marks, such candidate will be ranked according to their age in descending order, both in select list as well as in wait list (if maintained) The selected candidates may be posted at any place as per requirement of the Bank.

Eligibility Parameters:

Age: Minimum 35 and not exceeding 45 years for General category candidates as on 01.09.2017. For other castes: 1. Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe 5 years. Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) 3 years 2. Persons with Disabilities (PWD PWD (SC/ST)-15 Years, PWD (OBC) - 13 Years, PWD (Gen) - 10 Years 3. Ex Servicemen, Commissioned officers including Emergency 5 years Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment. 4. Persons Ordinarily domiciled of the state of Jammu & Kashmir 5 years during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.

Educational Qualification: Graduate with a degree in Law or a Law Graduate who has passed 5 years integrated Law course from a recognized University in India.

Experience (as on 01.09.2017): Law Graduates who have enrolled as Advocates with Bar Council and have at least 15 years of experience as Law officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks / Financial Institutions (as mentioned in the web page of Indian Banks' Association under the link Member Associate) Or State Level Development Financial Institutions. (The experience should be after enrolment as advocate with Bar Council).

How to Apply:

  • Search for ‘Recruitment of Specialist Cadre Officers in State Bank of India’. Click on the Apply Now button. You will have to register yourself. Click on the New Registration Tab
  • On the New Registration, fill in the required details and you will get your Registration ID and password.
  • Now log in with new ID and password and follow the online instructions.
Call Letters:
The candidates should download their call letter and an “acquaint yourself” booklet by entering their registration number and password / date of birth, from the Bank's website. Keep in mind that NO HARD COPY OF THE CALL LETTER / ACQUAINT YOURSELF BOOKLET WILL BE SENT BY POST. Intimation/call letter for interview will be sent by email or will be uploaded on Bank's website. No hard copy will be sent. The printout of online registered application along with photocopies of (i) ID proof (ii) Proof of date of birth (iii) Educational certificate/mark sheets (iv) Experience certificates (v) Brief resume, must be sent to “State Bank of India, Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, Corporate Centre, 3rd floor, Atlanta Building, Nariman Point, Mumbai-400021” by post so as to reach us on or before 10.10.2017.

Note that the process of Registration of application is completed only when fee is deposited with the Bank through Online mode 2. Before applying, candidates are requested to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the post as on 01.09.2017. Admission to online test will be purely provisional without verification of documents.
