UPSC: Indian Bureau of Mines To Hire Assistant Controller of Mines.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications for the post Assistant Controller of Mines to be hired by Indian Bureau of Mines under Ministry of Mines. Candidates willing to take up the post can apply for the same till November 2, 2017 (Thursday). The number of vacancy is 8 reserved for UR (6), OBC (2), SC (0) and ST (0). The qualified candidate would be paid as per Level 10 of Pay Matrix. The location is Nagpur but the candidate is liable to All India service. The post carries probation of one year.

Eligibility Parameters:
Age: Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.

Educational Qualification:
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution or passed Section (A) (B) of the Institution of Engineers (India) examinations i.e. Associate Member of Institution of Engineers (AMIE) in Mining Engineering.
OR
  • Master of Engineering or Master of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized Board or Institution.
  • Diploma in Computer Applications (of minimum six months) from a recognized Board or institution would be desirable.
Experience:
  • Four years’ experience in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines in mine management position or in the Government Department dealing with mines and minerals as Gazetted Officer possessing the qualification of Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering.
OR
  • Two years’ experience in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines in mine management position or in the Government Department dealing with mines and minerals as Gazetted Officer possessing the qualification of Master of Engineering or Master of Technology in Mining Engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Inspection of Mines, checking violations of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act and rules made thereunder.
  • Advising mine owners on the adoption of appropriate technology for prospecting and mining utilization of low grade minerals and rejects, protection of environment in mining areas, beneficiation of minerals.
  • Monitoring mining activities in accordance with the approved mining plan/scheme of mining. Technical data processing and retrieval as and when required.

Fees: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Nonrefundable) only either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit cards. Keep in mind that no fee for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates of any community. OBC male candidates are required to pay the full prescribed fee.

Candidates shortlisted for interview on the basis of the information provided in the online applications submitted by them will be required to send self-attested copies of documents/relevant certificates in support of the claims made in the application as and when demanded by the Commission.
