The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications for the post of Junior Research Officer (Research, Statistics and Analysis) to be hired by the Commission only. Candidates willing to take up the post can apply for the same till October 12, 2017 (Thursday). The number of vacancy is four reserved for UR (3), OBC (1), SC (0) and ST (0). The qualified candidate would be PB-2 (Rs. 930034800/-) with grade pay of Rs. 4600/- (Level-7) in revised pay matrix) Total Emoluments 44900 admissible allowances as per Government Rules. The post carries probation of two years. The Head Quarter is at New Delhi. In connection with performing his duties, the officer may be required to serve in any part of India.

Eligibility Parameters:
Age: Not exceeding 30 years. The upper age limit is 33 years as on the closing date for the OBC candidate for the post reserved for them. The age is Relaxable for Government Servants up to five years in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by Central Government from time to time.

Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Statistics or Operational Research or Mathematics or Applied Statistics or Applied Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics from a recognized University or Institute
OR
Master’s Degree in Economics or Sociology or Psychology or Commerce with Statistics as one of the subjects at graduate level or Post Graduate level from a recognized university or equivalent.

Experience: The candidate should possess Two years’ experience of analysis of statistical data and their interpretation in either of:

To assist senior officers in collection, compilation, tabulation, analysis and interpretation of statistical data.
  • Managing and using of designed programmers and other software’s to prepare tables, charts and graphs which in turn are used for writing various statistical reports.
  • Writing of various statistical reports.
  • Conducting of various research studies as per the requirement from time to time.
  • Supervision of updating of data into designed programmes/computer systems and collection of data/records.
  • Logical checking and verification/updating of date/records.
  • Supervision of safe keeping of data/records.
  • Periodical reviewing of old data/records.
  • General Administrative work of the section and punctuality.
  • Any other work assigned by the seniors from time to time.

    Fees: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Nonrefundable) only either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit cards. Keep in mind that no fee for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates of any community. OBC male candidates are required to pay the full prescribed fee.

    Qualified and eligible candidates will receive official communication from the Commission for interview. Candidates shortlisted for interview on the basis of the information provided in the online applications submitted by them will be required to send self-attested copies of documents/relevant certificates in support of the claims made in the application as and when demanded by the Commission.
