BJP national general secretary Varun Gandhi today alleged that only 30 to 40% funds are being spent on development works in Uttar Pradesh and the rest are misused by leaders, officials.
"Only 30 to 40% of the funds coming from the government are spent on development works. The bad shape of roads in Uttar Pradesh are an evidence to this fact. Middlemen, leaders and officials together are misusing the hard earned money of the people", Varun Gandhi said at a public meeting in Kanhaipur bazar this afternoon.
Gandhi is expected to contest from here in the coming Lok Sabha elections
At another meeting in Shivgarh, he said that providing employment in the region would be among his top priorities and he would talk to industrialists in this regard.
Yesterday, party workers celebrated Varun Gandh's birthday with the locals by cutting a cake and took the resolve to ensure his victory by a handsome margin.
