Former Andhra Pradesh DGP V Dinesh Reddy today joined the YSR Congress and is expected to be fielded in the Lok Sabha elections.
Reddy, who retired from service in September last, joined the YSRC in the presence of its chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy here.
He said he joined the party to serve the people, having seen the impact of the pro-poor measures implemented by late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as Chief Minister.
Reddy's name is reportedly being considered by YSRC as its candidate from either Malkajgiri in Hyderabad or Ongole in Seemandhra.
