Ahead of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's rally in Amravati in Maharashtra, former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Sunday said the Congress has no problem with Modi's rally in the state, and added that the party will give a reply to what he says in his rally.

"It is a democratic country and everybody has a right to say whatever he wants. We don't have any problem with his (Modi) rally until and unless it is done according to the Model Code of Conduct. But we will give a reply to whatever he says here," said Chavan, who has been nominated by the Congress from Nanded constituency.

"I have heard about it but I don't know if there is a Modi wave in Nanded or not. All the parties are conducting rallies and we are not worried about that," he added.

Chavan also said the disturbance Modi is trying to create in the country and in Maharashtra has no effect in Nanded.

"He (Modi) is coming to Maharashtra and I want to tell him that he should not worry about the state as there is lot development here. There are good and secular people here. We have a secular Maharashtra," he said.
