Bharatiya Janata Party’s senior leader Venkaiah Naidu today said his party would wait till Monday for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to react on the seat sharing in both Telangana and Seemandhra for the ensuing elections.
It may be noted BJP’s national spokesperson Prakash Javedkar had already conducted several rounds of discussions with senior TDP leaders on seat sharing and related issues, which however had not reached fruition as yet.
“The TDP is yet to respond on the alliance offer. It was trying to lay conditions, which are unacceptable to the BJP. We would wait for TDP’s response till Monday evening. In case of no alliance, we will contest on all 294 Assembly and 42 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh alone,” he told mediapersons here today.
Naidu said the BJP would win a sizeable number of seats, particularly in the Telangana region. “The separate Telangana became a reality only because of the support of the BJP,” he said, adding the BJP would win at least 300 Lok Sabha seats in the next elections and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi would become the Prime Minister of India.
