Election authorities here have registered a case against the NaMo brigade for violating the model code of conduct.
The case was booked against Gokul Govardhan of the NaMo brigade. It relates to a motorcycle rally taken out on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner C Shikha said today, the case had been booked for violating the model code by taking out a motorcycle rally consisting of motorbikes beyond the permitted numbers and for the participants wearing ‘T’ shirts carrying the photograph of Narendra Modi on March 16.
Besides a case against the NaMo brigade, cases have also been booked against a Block Congress Committee President and an incharge secretary of a co-operative society. They are among the five cases booked, two each in Chamundeswari and Chamaraja constituencies, on charges of code of conduct violation.

After BJP’s candidate Pratap Simha’s arrival here on March 14, the BJP had officially launched its campaign in the Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency on March 16. Organised by the NaMo brigade, the motorcycle rally, as part of the campaign, was flagged off by Simha at the Palace fort, under the Krishnaraja Assembly constituency. He had also addressed the NaMo brigade volunteers and party workers, launching his campaign. The large number of rally participants was wearing tee-shirts, caps and masks carrying the photo of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Modi in the rally.
