Accusing Narendra Modi of hatching a conspiracy to pitch Dalits and Muslims against each other, Congress today said the Election Commission should take cognisance of his remarks and initaiate action against him.
Congress general secretary and spokesman Shakeel Ahmad, citing new reports on election rallies held on the occasion of B R Ambedkar's birth anniversary yesterday, alleged that Modi had said Congress had done nothing for Dalits, compared to Muslims.
"It is a conspiracy to pitch two communities against each other," he said, adding, "Congress strongly condemns Modi's statement and hopes that the EC would take suo moto cognisance of it".
On Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's statement that the Third Front would form the government with the support of Congress, Ahmad said it was out of question.

The spokesman said that otherwise Congress would consider lodging a complaint.
