Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Minister Babulal Gaur today said "hunger for power" prevented the Congress party from heeding to Mahatma Gandhi's advice to disband itself after Independence.

In a statement here, he also objected to Congress invoking former Prime Minister and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee to target Narendra Modi.

Gaur said it was ironic that Congress which didn't pay heed to Gandhiji's advice to dissolve itself, was now using Vajpayee's "Rajdharma" remarks post 2002 riots to target the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate.
