The rebellion in the BJP ranks with senior leader Jaswant Singh being forced to file his nomination as an Independent candidate from Barmer today, had the Congress launch a full attack on the BJP accusing it of, being reduced to a one man party with Narendra Modi calling the shots. Party spokesperson Shobha Ozha charged Modi with "sidelining senior leaders in his party the way he had sidelined Muslims in his home state Gujarat."

In fact, Jaswant Singh is not the first senior BJP leader to speak out against the highhandedness within the party. Senior leader Sushma Swaraj had also gone public with her dissent over the shabby treatment meted out the senior leader Jaswant Singh.

Shobha Ozha took further potshots against the BJP stating that, "Sushma Swaraj has become the Leader of Opposition in her own party."

Another Congress senior, AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh questioned Narendra Modi's stature in BJP and tweeted, "Is Modi bigger than BJP and RSS?" Questioning the denial of ticket to Jaswant Singh Digvijay Singh said, "If there is a 'Modi wave' in the country then why BJP is engineering defections and giving seats to defectors?"

Jaswant Singh had been denied the Barmer ticket which was instead given to Col Sonaram Choudhary, a recent entrant into the BJP from the Congress camp.

Ozha who is also the Mahila Congress chief questioned, whether the women of this country would approve of a person like Modi or would welcome a person like Modi in their households. On a direct attack againt Modi the Congress spokesperson said, "Modi is known for his anti-women attitude, Modi who is yet to answer for the snoop gate, Modi who is known for his communal activities, women of this country need to be asked their views on Modi."
