Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is known to be a part of the Narendra Modi camp in the BJP, Wednesday ruled out a stint in the central government if the party is voted to power.

"I am not going to Delhi. None of my leaders have said anything to me about it," Parrikar told reporters in Panaji when asked if he was in the reckoning for a role in the central ministry if the BJP wins the Lok Sabha elections. The results are to be declared Friday.

Several surveys conducted by television news channels have tipped the Modi-led BJP to win, though exit polls have been proven incorrect on several occasions in the past.

Recently, a leading national daily in a speculative article, pegged Parrikar as the union home minister in Modi's "Dream Team".

It was Parrikar who had first set the ball rolling for Modi's prime ministerial journey by proposing his name during a crucial BJP national executive meeting in Goa last year.

After taking over as chief minister of Goa in 2012, Parrikar publicly announced it would be his last stint as a legislator in Goa, fuelling speculation he was angling for a national role within the party.
