Jayalalithaa should have visited injured: Karunanidhi

DMK president M. Karunanidhi Saturday questioned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa for not visiting the injured in the twin bomb blasts in a train here.

He said he along with senior officials had visited the injured in Coimbatore blasts in 1998 when he was the chief minister.

In a statement issued here, Karunanidhi said immediately after the bomb blasts in Coimbatore, he had visited the injured at the hospital with senior officials and also announced Rs.200,000 solatium for the family of the dead.

He recalled that Jayalalithaa at that time had demanded his resignation.

But now, after the twin bomb blasts in Bangalore-Guwahati Express in the state capital Chennai, shouldn't Jayalalithaa visit the injured and console them, he asked.
