 "Modi, Naidu to address NDA rally in Hyderabad")
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu will be sharing the dais as National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners at an election rally being held here on April 22.
Modi is scheduled to attend four rallies, all in the Telangana region, the same day while Naidu would be present only for a single rally, which is being held in the city, according to BJP state leaders. Naidu’s presence in Hyderabad rally is expected to boost the prospects of BJP candidates as the city has a big chunk of migrant population hailing from the Seemandhra region.
Naidu joined hands with the BJP as a pre-poll ally recently after terminating their relationship in the aftermath of Gujarat riots fearing the backlash from Muslim minority voters in the 2004 elections. Yet, he had to suffer defeat twice continuously in 2004 and 2009 elections. The decision to rejoin the NDA comes on the back of expectations that the BJP would return to power this time.
