Financial inclusion, the process of ensuring access of timely and adequate credit by the vulnerable groups at an affordable cost, has been achieved in thirteen districts of Orissa.
The process is targeted to be completed for the remaining 17 districts by December 2009, sources said.
The districts which have attained total financial inclusion are Cuttack, Ganjam, Puri, Raygada, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Kendarapara, Angul, Balsore, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
It figured in the deliberations of the State Level bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting held here recently where the banks were advised to gear up to complete the process at the earliest.
