At a conference to review the performance of the eight regions of the Karnataka Bank on Thursday, Ananthakrishna, chairman, advised the regional heads to "have a clear vision and act with tact". "This will lead to success," he added.

The thrust in the current financial year is on the growth of deposits as spelt out in the recent credit policy. The days ahead are challenging. We have to go to his doorstep for business. Selection of customers should be done judiciously and wisely.

It is a relationship which will be ongoing. His expectations are to be met with new and innovative techniques so that the bank can face the fierce competition pervading all walks of life, he said.

The bank may be small in size but it is rich in tradition, experience, financial strength and quality of service. Let us not be complacent, he added.
