The 25th four-day national conference of the All India Bank Employees' Association (AIEBA) will be held in the city from November 27 to 30. |
Addressing a press conference in this regard, B S Rambabu, general secretary of Andhra Pradesh Bank Employees Federation (APBEF), said: "Major issues relating to the sector would be discussed at the conference that is being held in the city after a gap of almost 40 years." |

Rambabu said that more than 3,500 delegates and observers from across the country would be attending the conference. The conference would also see invitees from 36 countries including Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, France, Australia, Brazil, Russia, Korea, China and Japan. |

"Issues on dilution of nationalisation character of the banking industry, increase of foreign direct investors to take over the private banks in a phased manner and removal of 10 per cent cap on voting rights of foreign investors would be some of the issues which would be discussed at the conference," Rambabu said. |

Apart from the above, issues on action against willful defaulters and publishing names, opposing the merger moves of banks, demanding more emphasis on rural credit and strengthening of public sector banks would be discussed at the conference. |

Rambabu also said that special sessions on the impact of globalisation and the impact of change in governments on the sector would be organised in the conference. |

The conference which would be inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would be attended by Sitaram Yechuri of the CPI(M), Jayram Ramesh of the Congress and Renuka Choudary, Union minister for tourism. |
