State-owned Allahabad Bank is planning to open 26 centralised retail-banking boutiques across the country by the end of this fiscal as it expects a 15 per cent rise in retail loans this year.

The bank will also recruit about 2,000 people in the next calendar year as it did last year.

Allahabad Bank Chairman and Managing Director J P Dua said these boutiques would come up in almost all state capitals like Ranchi, Jaipur, Lucknow and New Delhi.

The bank is running a retail-banking boutique in Kolkata.

"We are focusing on retail credit products like housing loans, car loans and personal loans for imparting acceleration to our business. We expect a rise of 15 per cent in retail loans in current fiscal due to demand in home loans and car loans," he said.

Apart from that, the bank is also planning to add 68 more branches to its existing network of 2,285 branches in the country.
