Bank deposits grew at 13.91% year-on-year to Rs 79,00,894 crore as of June 13, similar to credit growth, according to RBI data.
Deposits of commercial banks stood at Rs 69,35,844 crore during the same period last year, according to the fortnightly data released by the RBI today.
Bank credit grew at 13.88% year-on-year to Rs 60,90,030 crore in the reporting fortnight as against Rs 53,47,325 crore in the corresponding period last year.
On a fortnightly basis, deposits were a tad down by 0.35% to Rs 79,00,894 crore as against Rs 79,28,851 crore as of May 30. However, credit grew 0.4% to Rs 60,90,030 crore on fortnightly basis from Rs 60,67,365 crore.

During the reporting period, time deposits grew 13.89% to Rs 71,69,961 crore as against Rs 62,95,458 crore in the previous year, while demand deposits rose 14.14% to Rs 7,30,935 crore from Rs 6,40,386 crore in the year-ago period.
