Bharti Axa Investment Managers today announced the launch of its Bharti AXA Focused Infrastructure Fund.
The fund seeks to generate long-term capital appreciation through a portfolio of predominantly equity and equity-related securities of companies engaged in infrastructure and infrastructure-related sectors.
The new fund offer commenced yesterday and closes on February 15, 2010.
It is an open-ended equity fund and the investment performance of the fund will be benchmarked against the BSE 100 index.
"Our internal research has indicated that core infrastructure stocks amongst the companies forming the BSE 100 index has outperformed the BSE 100 index by 19 per cent Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over a period of 3-years. By having a focused portfolio of such sectors, we expect to derive the best of our investors through this fund," Bharti AXA Invesment Managers' Head, Equity, Prateek Agrawal, told reporters here.
"We believe that the growth trend will continue in the coming years given the impetus on infrastructure investment both from the government as well as public-private partnership," Agrawal said.
