The CGMs who are next in line for promotion are J K Ray, E S Jayaraman, S Gajendran, K Sivaprakasam, O V Bundellu and Jitender Balakrishnan.
However sources said that this time around there may not be a rush to fill up the positions of EDs on the back of an impending merger of IDBI with a public sector bank as it becomes a universal bank. Also even in case of a promotion, selection could be on a merit basis rather than on a seniority basis.
J N Godbole, who is the senior-most executive director in the organisation, is tipped to takeover as the chairman of National Housing Bank.
Sources said that he had already appeared for the interview and has been already cleared. If Godbole takes over as the chairman of NHB, the next senior most ED, A K Doda will take over as the DMD. He has a long tenure which will get over by November 2006.
