City Union Bank has posted net profit of Rs 73.89 crore during the first quarter of the current financial year as compared with Rs 58.51 crore a year ago.
The bank’s total income rose to Rs 566.90 crore from Rs 417.02 crore, an increase of 35 per cent.
N Kamakodi, managing director and chief executive officer, said the bank achieved total business of Rs 29,835 crore. This included deposits of Rs 17,062 crore, and advances of Rs 12,773 crore — during the period under review, from Rs 23,215 crore (deposits Rs 13,624 crore, advances Rs 9,591 crore) posted during first quarter of previous fiscal.
Gross non-performing assets came down to 1.07 per cent and net NPA to 0.50 per cent.
These were 1.22 per cent and 0.51 per cent, respectively, booked during comparable period previous year.
