Deutsche Bank AG Chief Executive Officer Josef Ackermann said he’s not interested in buying Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.
“We aren’t interested in parts or all of Lehman,” Ackermann said at a banking conference in Frankfurt today. He is confident “a solution” would be found for the New York-based bank. He doesn’t expect Lehman to collapse, something that would likely lead to a “wave” of problems and writedowns at all lenders.
Led by Chief Executive Officer Richard Fuld, Lehman has been negotiating with potential investors about obtaining a capital infusion and selling devalued mortgage.
