Kapil Wadhawan, the DHFL managing director, told media persons here today that though the major portion of the future borrowings would be pumped into housing finance, the company was, nevertheless, looking out for other investment avenues. |

The company has targeted to disburse around Rs 550 crore toward housing finance in the current fiscal, as against the last fiscal's lending of about Rs 418 crore. The average loan size from the company has also gone up to around Rs 2 lakh. |

Wadhawan expressed confidence that the company would achieve the targets by expanding its lending activity to small towns and cities, which has been the niche of the company all these years. |

The company acquired an 85.91 per cent equity stake in Vysya Bank Housing Finance Limited, thereby increasing its asset base by Rs 200 crore to around Rs 1,500 crore. |

Wadhawan disclosed that in a couple of weeks the company would come out with a 'Residential mortgage-backed securitisation' issue with a corpus of Rs 62 crore. |

Having received around $ 12.50 million as loan from the Washington-based IFC, DHFL is actively pursuing to secure another $15 million loan from Asian Development Bank (ADB), he informed. |

He said the company's net profit recorded a 23 per cent growth in the third quarter at Rs 6.3 crore as compared to the corresponding quarter's net of Rs 5.12 crore in the last financial year. |

The company achieved a net profit of about Rs 19 crore in the last financial year. He said the company had taken up a month-long mobile campaign to reach out to every nook and corner of the state. The campaign, which began on January 19, would end on February 20. |
