General insurers have seen a 19.36% rise in premium collection for April to January period this fiscal, compared to same period last fiscal.
Non-life insurance companies collected total premium of Rs 56,110.45 crore for the period, as compared to Rs 47,002.41 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Private general insurers contributed Rs 24181.77 crore to the kitty for the period, seeing a 22.9% growth over the correspondent period in previous fiscal. Public general insurers saw a 16.7% growth in the same period and added Rs 31918.69 crore to the kitty in this period.
Among the companies, SBI General Insurance followed by Max Bupa saw the highest growth rate in the period.
