Even while promising a bailout for the Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) and IFCI Ltd, the government intends to investigate the reasons for the financial trouble in which the two financial institutions (FIs) have landed themselves.
In addition, the Centre also proposes to impose strict conditionalities while clearing their restructuring packages.
The probe would cover corporates which were provided term loans and funding by the two institutions.
