Hyderabad-based SKS Microfinance Limited, the only listed microfinance institution (MFI) in the country, on Saturday stated that Suresh Gurumani had tendered his resignation as a director from the board of the company with immediate effect. In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the MFI said that Gurmani had resigned as a director by “way of his letter dated May 27, 2011”.
SKS, founded by Vikram Akula, had removed Gurumani as chief executive officer in October last year without citing any reasons and appointed MR Rao in his place.
