It also aims at disbursing Rs 212 crore crop loans and Rs 38 crore term loans and loans for agricultural allied activities. |

The circle with 58 branches, including 39 rural branches, nine commercial branches, eight personal branches and one credit intensive branch, brought down its non-performing assets (NPAs) from 7.38 per cent to 5.19 per cent in 2005-06, A Ramachandra Rao, deputy general manager and circle head of the bank, said. |

He said that the circle deposits touched Rs 590.68 crore at the end of 2005-06, registering an increase of Rs 60.74 crore (10 per cent), and advances increased to Rs 473.06 crore by 34 per cent (Rs 119.41 crore). The business per employee increased from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 1.93 crore. |

Advances to the agriculture sector was up from Rs 171.57 crore to Rs 222.45 crore, and in the small scale sector from Rs 16.69 lakh to Rs 54.35 lakh in 2005-06. In all, 96,899 farmers received various loans. The bank gave Rs 25 crore loans against mirchi and pulses the farmers kept in godowns and cold storages. |

He said the circle had decided to give Rs 10 crore educational loans this year as against last year's (2005-06) Rs 920.11 lakh to 520 students. |

The bank disbursed Rs 16.30 crore to 2,815 self-help groups in the three districts. Under Ryothu Mitra groups, he said, Rs 79.13 lakh had been advanced to 78 farmers. Online operations were launched in 14 branches in the circle. |

All the branches in Vijayawada and four branches in Guntur were now under core banking solutions (CBS). |
