Private sector lender Karnataka Bank today said its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, rose by 2.92 per cent to Rs 83.14 crore, over the same period last year.
The company had a net profit of Rs 80.78 crore in the same quarter ended March 2008, Karnataka Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income of the company rose to Rs 641.80 crore for the quarter ended March 2009, from Rs 475.18 crore for the same quarter ended last fiscal.
For the year ended March 2008, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 266.70 crore, up 10.32 per cent from Rs 241.74 crore in the same period last year.
Shares of Karnataka Bank settled at Rs 143.70, up 2.31 per cent on the BSE.
