Karur Vysya Bank opens Amritsar branch

Karur Vysya Bank inaugurated its Amritsar branch last week. This is the bank's second full-fledged branch in Punjab after the one in Ludhiana. With the opening of this branch, the total number of branches of the Karur Vysya Bank in the country becomes 239.

Speaking on the occasion, P T Kuppuswamy, chairman, Karur Vysya Bank, Punjab, said, "With all the branches under core banking solution, the bank provides customers service across multiple delivery channels. All our branches extend the RTGS facility. 'Technological services at an affordable price' is the signature tune of the bank."

He said the bank's focus would be on retail and SMEs. Kuppuswamy said Punjab was likely to emerge as a big wealth generator in the near future.

He further said the bank's net profit for Q3 of 2005-06 rose to Rs.25.86 crore against Rs.20.72 crore last year.
