Kotak Mahindra Bank opens branch in Surat
Our Regional Bureau Surat Kotak Mahindra Bank opened it's first retail-banking branch in Surat at Megh Mayur Complex, Parle Point, on Tuesday.
The branch, which is the fourth in Gujarat, was inaugurated by Uday Kotak, executive vice-president and managing director of the Bank. |
Speaking on the occasion, Uday Kotak said, "The year 2004-05 is an important year for us as we are consolidating and expanding our national presence. Gujarat is a key market for us." |
"Surat is a very fast developing city. It is becoming the financial capital of Gujarat and has the potential to become one of the top-10 cities of the country. We want to be an integral part of Surat," said Kotak. |
"With this, the number of Kotak Mahindra Bank's branches in Gujarat has increased to four. We already have two branches in Ahmedabad and one in Vadodara. One more branch will be opened in Rajkot by the end of this month," Uday Kotak added. |
"We want to take banking to a different level. We will offer various services to the customers, but our specialty will be 'personalised investment advice' that is aimed at helping customers manage their wealth." |
"Our wealth managers, with the aid of proprietary techniques, will provide personalised investment advice to customers on products ranging from mutual funds to insurance to equity," said Uday Kotak. |
"Kotak Mahindra Bank customers will get a free Visa affiliated global debit card with their account, which will allow them to access their accounts free of cost at any bank's Visa ATM," Uday Kotak said. |
When asked if the Bank had any plans to set up it's own ATMs, Kotak said, "We certainly will set up our own ATMs in due course. But we feel that sharing ATMs with other banks is more customer friendly." |
