LIC employees to go on strike

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) employees of the northern region would go on a day-long token strike on March 31 demanding an early settlement of wage revision.
 
"The employees feel that the offer made by the management is inadequate and disappointing," Surjit Ram, divisional secretary of Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association said inJalandhar on Tuesday.
 
And required to be improved substantially keeping in view the phenomenal growth of LIC and legitimate aspirations of the workforce, Surjit Ram, divisional secretary of northern zone insurance employees association said here on Tuesday.
 
In view of this, LIC employees will observe one-day token strike on March 31, he said.
 
LIC employees also staged a demonstration in front of the divisional office here and submitted a memorandum to the senior divisional manager enlisting their demands.
 
While justifying the demand for immediate wage hike, he said the cost on wages has come down with the phenomenal increase in the total premium income of the institution and this could not have been possible without the hardwork and active cooperation of all classes of employees.
