The capacity utilisation for the second quarter was at 70.6 per cent, against 71.3 per cent in the first quarter and 73.6 per cent in the second quarter of financial year 2014-15.
Average new orders witnessed a marginal improvement in the September-ended quarter of FY16 from the quarter ended June of the financial year, implying some uptick in demand. However, average demand remained unchanged from the corresponding quarter in FY15.
The finished goods inventory-to-sales ratio remained steady in the latest second quarter, while the raw material inventory-to-sales ratio increased in the second quarter of FY16, compared with the year-ago quarter.
