Max NY Life offers health plan

Max New York Life Insurance Company, one of the leading private insurance companies of the country, has forayed into health insurance sector.
 
It launched the 'Lifeline' range of health insurance products in Orissa today. The series comprises Medicash plans, Wellness plans and Safetynet plans.
 
With the changing lifestyle and inflation increasing the cost of medical treatment, the policy will be of immense help to the customers, Sibaranjan Patnaik, Zonal vice-president, Max New York Life, told the media persons here.
 
He said, the Medicash plans are hospital cash plans providing daily fixed per day benefits for hospitalization.
 
Wellness plan provides critical illness covers against 38 medical conditions.
 
Stating that the 'Mission Everest' expansion plan is implemented by the company to have strong national foot print, he said, under it the company intends to deepen penetration and expand to new areas through increased branch and distribution network.
 
While the company is present in 155 cities of the country with 233 offices, it targets to serve more than 500 cities by 2011.
 
Besides, it has chalked a plan to increase the agency force in the country to 2 lakhs by 2011 from 30,500 at present.
 
Patnaik said, as part of business expansion, the company will focus on the under-served rural markets, where potential exists for high growth.
 
Accordingly, the company plans to launch micro-insurance products to cater to the requirement of this segment.
 
"We are looking at under-served markets to provide insurance products at affordable cost. More than 300 million households can be covered", he said.
 
Asked whether there company has filed for any product in this segment with the insurance regulator, Patnaik said, the work is going on in that front. However, he refused to divulge the details of proposed products in this segment.
 
Max New York Life has 17 offices in the eastern zone at present, which will be increased 30 by end of the current year.
 
Out of the 13 new offices to be opened, two offices will be opened in Sambalpur and Balasore taking the total to six in the state.
