The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has pegged the total credit potential for various sectors in the state at Rs 60,904 crore.

G Sudhir, principal secretary (finance) released the state focus paper 2010-11 at a seminar held by Nabard here on Tuesday.

Delivering the inaugural address, Nabard chief general manager KV Raghavulu said, “The state focus paper was prepared keeping in view the utility of the user agencies, as the document lends itself to be used as a road map by the banks for preparation of the annual action plan for lending under the priority sector and also would help the state government make required budgetary provision for bridging the infrastructure gap and harnessing the potentials in different sectors,” he said. The state paper for 2010-11 envisages 10 per cent increase in plan outlay compared with last year.

Lauding the banks for the good work done, especially under the agriculture and priority sector lending, he said with the good network of branches and a favourable enabling environment created by the state government, the targets specified under the state focus paper may not be difficult to achieve.
