The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has estimated the priority sector credit potential for Andhra Pradesh during 2011-12 at Rs 70,849 crore, an increase of 16.3 per cent over the current year.
While the crop loan forms around 47.3 per cent of the overall estimate, other priority sectors account for 27.7 per cent.
The remaining credit demand would come from the non-farm sector, pegged at 10.1 per cent, along with 14.9 per cent from the agri-term loan segment.
The status paper projected crop loans at Rs 33,528 crore and agriculture term loans at Rs 10,531 crore. For the non-farm sector, an amount of Rs 7,157 crore has been identified.
