New Delhi Municipal Council has registered a record revenue collection of Rs 3408.29 crore surpassing the target for the finacial year 2015-16 by Rs 122 crore.
NMDC exercises civic jurisdiction over an area that is home to some of the richest people in the city.
It has also posted the highest collection in property tax in five years, with an increase of 20% over its haul previous year.
"NDMC has collected Rs 3408.29 crore against the revised estimate of Rs 3,286.89 crore for 2015-16. In property tax, there is a collection of Rs 444 crore, with an increase of 20% against the collection of Rs 370 crore in 2014-15," NDMC said in a statement.
The property tax collection in the year 2012, 2013, 2014 were Rs 382.61 crore, Rs 366.73 crore and Rs 370 crore respectively.
