Swiss banking major Credit Suisse has said Neil Harvey will run its asset management business in Asia Pacific and emerging markets from February.
The bank named Harvey as the managing director and head of Asia Pacific and chief of emerging markets for asset management operations with effect from February 1, 2010, Credit Suisse said in a statement.
He would be based in Hong Kong and would report to Robert Shafir, CEO asset management and Kai Nargolwala, CEO Asia Pacific.
Harvey has rich experience in the Asia Pacific region, he has worked for 10 years in Hong Kong for Credit Suisse before quitting the firm in 2006 to open Bennelong Asset Management. Later, he joined the emerging market powerhouse Renaissance Group.
While, Salman Shoaib, has been leading the Credit Suisse's Asia Pacific asset management business in the last 18 months would become Credit Suisse Head of Corporate Development for the region.
Commenting on the appointment Shafir said, "Developing the Asia Pacific region and building out our global emerging markets' offering and clients is core to asset management's growth strategy across our division and businesses."
