The non-life insurance industry has grown by nearly 16 per cent in fiscal 2003 with total premium mopped up crossing Rs 14,300 crore from around Rs 12,300 crore last year.
Private sector insurance players, with a 9.4 per cent market share, have galloped nearly 200 per cent.
Together the eight private insurers have mopped up a premium income of around Rs 1,340 crore against approximately Rs 460 crore last year.
